| Love Your Mutt Policies (herein known as LYM) |
Health & behavior issues:
It is the owners responsibility to inform LYM of any medical, physical, emotional issues, behavior problems, allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions.
Vaccinations:
The law requires all dogs to be up to date on the rabies vaccine. It is also highly recommended to administer DHLPP (Distemper Hepatitis Leptospirosis Parvo Parainfluenza), Canine Flu, and the Bordetella vaccines if your dog will be in contact with or near other dogs. Please call your veterinarian to see what they recommend.
Restrictions:
Although LYM does not have any "vicious breed" restrictions, we do have restrictions on size and behavior issues.
Size: dogs need to be able to fit comfortably on the table and in the tub during the grooming process. Some adult breeds are simply too large i.e. Newfoundlands, Great Pyranese, & Great Danes. Please contact LYM with your specific breed of dog & size if you are unsure.
Behavior: in some cases a dog may be too aggressive, stressed, afraid, etc to groom. This is determined on a case by case basis. LYM has years of experience with these types of behaviors and is successful at grooming the majority of them. If the behavior becomes dangerous for the groomer or the pet, the process will be stopped and a charge will be incurred based on the amount of groom completed at that time with a minimum fee of $25.
Entering the home:
At the owners discretion LYM may enter the home while they are away. The owner will leave access to the home as discussed with LYM. All keys, garage codes, garage door openers etc will remain absolutely private and secure at all times by LYM. If for some reason LYM cannot enter the home (changed locks, broken garage door, forgot to leave key) a fee of $25 will be billed to you. LYM will always make every attempt to contact you before leaving to seek other arrangements of entering your home in any of the above cases.
Emergency Vet Care:
In case of an emergency and you are not home, you give permission for LYM to seek medical attention for your pet at the nearest Animal Hospital i.e. violent seizure, bloat, etc. LYM will always make every attempt to contact you in this event and can transport your pet to your veterinarian if desired. LYM will not be financially responsible for vet care.
Discounts:
cannot be combined in any way
Cancellation:
LYM requires a 48 hour cancellation notice. This is important as we work by route (part of town) and schedule around the time allotted to groom your dog. LYM needs the 48 hours in order to rearrange our schedule and find a replacement. Failure to call 48 hours in advance may result in a charge of $25 that must be paid prior to your next grooming appointment. Please understand that LYM reserved the time for your specific pet and residence. To contact LYM in the event you do need to cancel, 24 hour voicemail is available to you as well as email. If a client is a "no call, no show" the cancellation fee will be for the entire amount of the groom.
Appointments:
LYM will arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible, however, sometimes situations occur that will disrupt the daily schedule. This includes but is not limited to: traffic, weather, mechanical difficulties, spending more time with a senior pet or difficult dog. You will be called and advised of any change to the allotted arrival time ASAP.
Prices:
Pricing varies for each dog and is determined by breed, size, services requested, and condition of your pet.
Additional charges apply for de-matting, de-shedding, excessive coat and flea treatments due to the additional time it takes. Additional charges may apply due to the dog's temperament and behavior during the groom.
All Quotes are not final until the end of the grooming appointment.
Matted Pets:
If your dog is excessively matted he/she will be shaved so they can "start over". Matted coats are painful and can cause numerous health problems including itching, irritation, skin infections and sores. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, cysts or skin folds trapped under the mats.
In less severe cases of mating you may have the option of having your pet demated, so long as it does not cause the pet pain. Dematting fees are $1.00 per minute.
