A bath isn't just a bath in the back yard with a hose and human grade shampoo. At Love Your Mutt a bath consists of the highest quality PH balanced pet shampoo to ensure the softest and shiniest coat. A full body massage occurs naturally while applying the shampoo. Using my knowledge about skin and coat conditions I will determine the best type of shampoo and there is never an extra charge for it.

The hair between toes and in pads needs to be trimmed to prevent matting, mud or snow build up and even prevent sliding on tile floors. Nails need to be kept short to prevent breaking, cracking, nail bed dislodgment, and even foot deformities (these occur when a pets nails are so long that the toe and paw start bend in an unnatural position, which can be painful).

Proper oral hygiene is essential for a healthy pet. The gel used is formulated with natural baking soda to safely combat plaque build up and contains soothing aloe vera to relieve minor gum irritations.

Some breeds must have ear hair removed to prevent infections. This is done by applying a specially formulated professional ear powder that helps loosen the hair at the root so that it can be gently removed. All breeds need their ears cleaned to prevent odor, itch and infection. An all natural alcohol free soothing liquid formula of yucca, aloe vera, chamomile, tea tree oil, clove oil and echinacea is used to clean the ears. I also pack the ears to help prevent water from entering the ear canal.

Anal glands are located on either side of your dogs anus. Although they are supposed to express themselves when the dog is relieving him or herself, that doesn't always occur. If you notice scooting or excessive rear end licking, they may be trying to express the gland on their own. Upon request I can check these glands to see if they need expressing and then do it.

If you are not home during your appointment, it is our pleasure to give your dog a short potty break before and after the groom.

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL SERVICES

• BIG HAIRY DEAL: [less shedding] $15 and up This is a program offered to dedicated owners who would like to see a reduction of hair on their clothes, furniture and in the home. The pet must rebook every 2 or 4 weeks to take part in the Big Hairy Deal.
  Dogs hair grows in four stages, this is why it can appear to be shedding at all times. The Big Hairy Deal process gently and properly removes undercoat, dander and any hair near the shedding stage. It will not completely stop the dog from shedding-this is an occurance of nature. You will however notice a greatly reduced amount of hair shedding from the coat.
  Prices are based on a dogs size, breed and coat type. It starts at $15 (in addition to the $65 starting price).
• Premium Pawdicure:
  Nails trimmed, buffed and painted. Pads will be treated with a specially formulated shea butter creme. $20
• Ruff to soft:
  Specially formulated sheer butter creme applied to rough area's on elbows, nose and pads. $5
• Aromatherapy:
  Available as a lavender shampoo with matching cologne. Lavender is known as the "Mother" of essential oils as it promotes a relaxing & calming effect on people as well as animals. $10
  Don't like scents on your dog but still want the calming effect? Aromatherapy is also available at your request for the van upon your dogs arrival. $5

  Nails trimmed and filed, ears cleaned, teeth brushed and bandanna or bows. $20*
